VT591 Water Leak Sensor

Description

The VT591 Water Leak Sensor is designed to detect water leaks by sensing a drop in resistance along the connected WLC Water Leak Cable. This sensor requires the use of a WLC Leak Cable, which is ordered separately and available in various lengths to suit different installation needs.

The WLC Leak Cable is designed to provide comprehensive coverage for leak detection across large areas, such as under-raised floors in data centers or around sensitive equipment. It can be laid out to cover the entire perimeter of a room or specific areas that are vulnerable to leaks. By positioning the cable along the edges of the floor, near water pipes, HVAC systems, or around server racks, the cable ensures that even small amounts of moisture are detected anywhere within the monitored zone.

This flexibility allows the WLC cable to create a continuous detection loop, covering the full floor perimeter, and making it ideal for large spaces. It offers protection by providing alerts as soon as water is detected, minimizing the risk of damage to critical infrastructure

The VT591 can be connected to any analog port (A1...A8) of the Vutlan monitoring unit, enabling real-time detection and alerts in the event of a water leak. For larger installations, the number of connected sensors and overall system length can be expanded using the VT408 Sensor Extension Unit, ensuring flexible coverage of areas prone to leaks.

This sensor is ideal for preventing water damage in data centers, server rooms, and other critical facilities where early leak detection is essential.

Use cases

This sensor is essential for preventing water-related damage in mission-critical environments.

  • Water Leak Detection: Monitors for water leaks in critical environments such as data centers, server rooms, and building facilities. It detects water by sensing a drop in resistance along the connected WLC Water Leak Cable.
  • Early Warning Systems: Provides real-time alerts when a leak is detected, helping to prevent water damage to equipment, infrastructure, or sensitive areas by enabling rapid response.
  • Flexible Installation: Can be installed along pipelines, around sensitive equipment, or in areas prone to flooding. The connected WLC Water Leak Cable can be ordered in different lengths, allowing the sensor to monitor large or hard-to-reach areas.
  • Integration with Monitoring Systems: It connects easily to any Vutlan monitoring unit, and the number of sensors can be expanded using the VT408 Sensor Extension Unit, making it suitable for large-scale installations.

Sensor features

Logic schemes

Logic schemes are used to specify automatic actions to events that occur in the system.

Dashboard view

The system allows to customize the dashboard individually for each user and displays the most important information on it in a visual form.
Add widgets with multi graphs, gauge meters or knobs.

Thresholds

Each sensor has Low Alarm, Low Warning, Normal, High Warning, and High alarm threshold states for logic control & sending of notification.

Graphs and Logging

Vutlan supports SD card logging up to 500 Gb. You can log a whole systems loaded with sensors for 3 years.

Add more analog sensors using VT408 or VT408DIN

'VT408 Sensor extension unit' and 'VT408DIN Sensor extension unit" increase the number of analog sensors connected to any Vutlan monitoring unit. Each VT408 unit adds 8 analog sensors. Multiple VT408 units can be connected using a daisy CAN chain. Sensors connected to the extension unit appear in the system automatically.

Systems with analog ports:

To read data from the analog sensors, you need Vutlan monitoring and control system. All the following monitoring & control systems have a different amount of analog ports.
